Eid dinner 2017

The Annual Eid Dinner is our main fund raiser event, this year it was held at the City of Arcadia Community Center, on Saturday 23rd September 2017.

Our annual picnic encompasses a sumptuous lunch followed by games and competitions for the various generations/age groups. The community is entertained by the Sri Lankan melodies of the good old days.

It has always been a fun filled day with lots of laughter, socializing among the kids and adults and great food, drinks, desserts, tea etc.

This year the Picnic was a grand success, with our Counsel General Hon. Swarna Gunaratne and her staff present. We concluded with a Carrom Tournament, Musical Chairs and Balance the lime contest for kids and many more fun games.

The Sri Lankan Muslim Association of California was founded in the year 1999 by a few senior members of our community who had the foresight of what our needs are today.

They saw the possibilities of a growing Sri Lankan Muslim population in California. They structured the Sri Lanka Muslim Association of California to bring the religious and cultural values of our Sri Lankan heritage to our American born children and leaders of tomorrow.

We have today in our Community a new generation that will carry the torch handed to them by their parents and lead/guide the community along.
